In addition to what we’ve said a few days ago, it is important to draw attention to another certification programme brought to life by Object Management Group. This time we speak about OCUP 2 that stands for OMG Certified UML Professional 2™.
According to OMG, the OCUP 2 programme «tests a person’s knowledge and skill in the construction and interpretation of model diagrams using OMG’s Unified Modeling Language«. As of this writing, the programme consists of three levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced (see also what is covered at each exam level).
- OCUP 2 Foundation Certification «covers the UML elements and constructs used most heavily to read or construct UML models of systems worked by teams in business today. The diagram types covered at this level – Class, Object, and Package on the structural side; Sequence, Activity, State Machine, and Use Case on the behavioral – depict the features that architects and developers need to visualise as they design and implement real, practical, everyday systems, even LAN- or WAN-based widely distributed systems«.
- OCUP 2 Intermediate Certification «covers a broad range of UML elements. Familiarity with these elements allows a user to read, interpret, construct, and work with fairly complex UML model«.
- OCUP 2 Advanced Certification «covers the full range of UML elements. Familiarity with these elements allows a user to read, interpret, construct, and work with extremely large and complex UML models of an application’s structure and behaviour«.
