Among others, specialists in requirements engineering — be they either software or systems engineers — are in need for an established and recognized certification scheme. A decade ago, one could hardly show you the right way. But now, that is not the case.
Founded in Furth, Germany, in 2006, the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) is a holder for three levels of CPRE certification addressing novice, regular, and seasoned requirements engineers. According to the IREB’s Web site, Foundation Level exams have been successfully passed by more than 16,000 engineers from 50 countries all over the world. Don’t put off, get certified!
